Day Date review-Ferguson's Orchards

Last weekend, we had the MOST fun fall day date at Ferguson's Orchards in Eau Claire, WI. Going to the orchard is always on my fall bucket list, and I have wanted to visit this beautiful orchard for a few years.

This is one of the largest apple orchards in our area, and I knew they also had lots of fun activities. You are able to pick you own apples there, but they also have a large store (pictured in the barn above) where you can bags of apples and lots of other goodies. The day we visited was the perfect fall day. Temps were in the 60s, and we were excited to spend our morning at the orchard. This is also a perfect activity during COVID as it's all outdoors.

We arrived at the orchard around 11 am and it was already busy. But they have a well-oiled machine going with parking attendants and a large parking area. We walked up to the entrance and got checked in. We then approached the map to see all the choices of activities that were available.

As you can see, they have a LOT to offer, especially for families. We started our visit by heading straight to the food truck where we bought some apple cider which was so yummy.

After our snack, we just enjoyed walking around the orchard and looking at the farm animals, the amusing apple cannons (yes, you can shoot apples at a target), and enjoyed a tractor ride around the orchard. It had been awhile since my hubby and I had enjoyed a day date, and we found this was such a nice spot to enjoy each other's company and people watch. It was the first time I have felt "normal" when going out in a long time, due to all the COVID protocols, and it was so refreshing and good for my soul.

loved seeing handwashing stations throughout!

I really enjoyed the barnyard animal section--what can I say, I am a kid at heart!

apple cannons LOL-we didn't play, but it was fun to see!

After our walk and snack, we hit up the corn maze. I have always loved corn mazes, and this was the first time my husband and I had done a corn maze together and it was fun--great team building and problem solving activity! We didn't get TOO lost and eventually made our way out with some helpful clues that were placed on signs throughout the maze.

We decided that we would just buy apples from the store instead of pick our own. After finishing the corn maze, we walked around a little more in this cute area with lots of photo ops:

Our last stop of the morning was at the cute little store. We knew we wanted to get a couple bags of apples and some other treats. We ended up buying a bag of Honeycrisps and a bag of Sweet Tangos which ended up being some of the BEST apples I have ever eaten. We also bought apple cider donuts to take home, an apple turnover, and a caramel apple which truly was one of the best I have EVER had!!!

I must say, the happiest I have been in WEEKS was eating my apple outside with my husband and enjoying the crisp fall air. It was literally perfect. The staff of Ferguson's have done a GREAT job of making guests feel safe and welcome. We were so pleased with our experience and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a family or couples' activity! During this insane time, we all need some normalcy, comfort, and tradition. Ferguson's delivered in all of those areas!
